Carl Paganelli lives in Wyoming, Michigan with
his lovely wife of many years, Mary. He has 3 sons - Perry, an educator
and an NFL official; Carl, a federal employee and an NFL official;
and Dino. an educator and an official in the Big
Ten Conference. Carl has been Coordinator of Football Officials
in the Mid-American
Conference since 1997. In addition to his duties as a conference
Supervisor, Carl is also an observer for the NFL. Carl is also a
former Supervisor of Officials for the Great Lakes Conference. Carl
was the first Supervisor of Officials of the XFL and was Supervisor
of Officials for the Arena Football League for 14 years.
Carl officiated for 40 years and in that time worked
20 years at the college level and officiated in the World League and
USFL. Carl was also both an official and a Supervisor of Officials
for the Arena Football League. Carl was the 1st Supervisor of officials
when the Arena League expanded to AF2. Carl has been a technical advisor
for the Big 10 and was an observer in the World League.
Carl has traveled throughout the United States and
Europe as a Clinician representing officials both on and off the field.
In 1999 Carl was the Supervisor of Officials for the 1st American Football
World Cup in Palermo, Italy. In 2001, Carl received the Butch Lambert
Award and was inducted into the Grand Rapids Gridiron Heroes for officiating.
