Jim Swider
Central Officials Association
Jim Swider is entering his 20th season as a football official in the
Chicago area. 2008 was his first year as a member of the Missouri Valley
Football Conference (MVFC) officiating staff under the supervision of
Ed Tschannen, working primarily as a Head Linesman.
From 1995 through 2008, Jim was a member of the officiating staffs
under Jim Keogh for several NCAA Division III Football conferences,
including the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), Midwest
and Illini-Badger, as well as NAIA and Junior College conferences. In addition, Jim
served as a crew chief from 2004-2008. His collegiate officiating
highlights include five NCAA Division III Playoff assignments,
including a 2007 Second Round Playoff assignment and a 2000 NAIA First
Round Playoff assignment
Jim has worked all levels of high school football,
mainly in the Chicago Catholic League and is a registered official in
the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). His accomplishments
include the 2003-2005 Chicago Catholic League Championship and the 1996
Chicago land Prep Bowl Championship.
In addition, Jim has been an active member of the Central Officials Association
for 20 years and staff member of the CFO Clinic for the past 9 years.
Jim has been married to his wife Cara since 1999 and has 2 daughters
Kaitlyn (age 8) and Kendall (age 6) and son Ryan (age 2). The family
resides in Downers Grove, Illinois. He holds an MBA from University
of Illinois at Chicago, a CPA designation, and currently works as a financial
analysis director at CNA Insurance.
