Pat started playing football in 1970. He played
during his grammar school years and then went to St Rita High School where
he played four years and won a State Championship in 1978.
After high school, Pat played football for Western Illinois
where he was a four year letterman, a three year starter and a two year
All-American.
Upon graduating from college, Pat had the opportunity
to play professional football in Italy.
Pat coached football at St. Rita High School for four
years, one year at Elmhurst College and one year overseas in Europe.
In 1990 Pat started his officiating career. He began
with grammar school and lower level high school football. He then
had the opportunity to work in the CCIW for six years and he worked in
the Gateway Conference for five years.
In 2005, he joined the Big Ten Conference, where he continues
to officiate at this time.
